Performance for soprano, modular synth and silicone prosthesis,
In We’ll all burn our parents we explore how mourning and the act of childbearing can dialog and respond to each other, from the omnipresence of the dead to the uncertainty of a life to come, and back.
We investigate the resonance between the tangible absence of the deceased and the silent presence of those who have not come yet.
The metaphysical body-to-body dialectic is reinforced by the voice being intertwined with the mineral sound of a modular synth that was designed specifically for the performance. Both the body and the prosthesis contribute to embody the ambivalence of a chair that is both organic and artificial.
